What is Chiropractic?
“Chi” + “ros”
The word is made up of “chi” and “ros” meaning “done by hand.” This is pretty generic but says a lot about our profession.
Chiropractors work with your body, not against it, to allow it to function optimally on it’s own rather than adding substances that alter its function.
The Spine
Chiropractic understands that all the functions of our bodies are controlled by the nervous system (we walk because our brain and/or spinal cord tell our legs to move). Our spinal cord - central nervous system - is housed in the spine and affected by movement and adjustments made to the area.
However, all joints require movement, and information is being sent back to the brain from every area of the body. Chiropractors are able to affect movement and therefore improve function of any area of the body.
Why this matters
Many people are experiencing limitations to living the most abundant life imaginable. Chiropractic can help many people identify this and remove the limitation.
Let me tell you what we mean - if you are experiencing pain anywhere in the body, chiropractic is like a first line of defense. Before heading to a clinic to receive options for injections or surgery, head to a chiropractor for options for movement and small changes to get your body where it needs to be to heal itself. The body can then handle the daily stressors you’ve been encountering that were previously overwhelming.
